Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Grilled Chicken Burgers that you can easily make at home. These burgers are juicy, and perfect for a summer BBQ or a quick weeknight dinner.

Ingredients
  

For the Chicken Patties:

  • 1 lb 450g ground chicken (or chicken mince)
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs or panko for extra crunch
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp cumin optional
  • 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for binding

For Assembling:

  • 4 burger buns brioche or whole wheat
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickles optional
  • Cheese slices optional, cheddar or pepper jack work well
  • Mayonnaise mustard, or your favorite burger sauce

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Chicken Patties:
    In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, smoked paprika, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until well combined (avoid overmixing to keep the patties tender). Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1/2-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the centre of each patty to prevent it from puffing up during cooking.
  • Preheat the Grill:
    Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates to prevent sticking.
  • Grill the Patties:
    Place the chicken patties on the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If adding cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to let it melt.
  • Toast the Buns:
    While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden and slightly crispy.
  • Assemble the Burgers:
    Spread mayonnaise or your favourite sauce on the bottom bun. Layer with lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion. Place the grilled chicken patty on top, followed by pickles (if using). Add the top bun and press gently to hold everything together.
  • Serve:
    Serve immediately with a side of fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
